Gaussian Beam Migration for Free-Surface Multiples in VSP
نویسندگان
چکیده
The vertical seismic profiling (VSP) Gaussian beam migration is a imaging method with both computational efficiency and precision. It can get high-resolution structural features near the well. However, VSP based on primary reflection limited by observation system, which makes it unable to image for shallow structure at far offset. free-surface multiples in expand illumination range offset effectively. Therefore, (GBM) proposed. Firstly, ground pre-stack depth migration, decomposing plane wave improved adapted into geometry. We decompose records received well waves different directions according window centers of each direction independently. Secondly, through mirror velocity model receivers, are converted reflections involved method, thus, primaries used multiples. Finally, effectiveness robustness proposed verified theoretical practical data.

3D wave-equation interferometric migration of VSP multiples
For VSP data, interferometric migration of free-surface multiples has two significant advantages over standard VSP migration: 1). a significantly larger imaging area than that of conventional migration of VSP primaries, and 2). less sensitivity to velocity and static errors than conventional migration of VSP multiples. In this report we validate these claims by applying wave-equation interferom...
متن کاملCrosscorrelogram Migration of Free-Surface Multiples in CDP Data
Free-surface multiples can be considered to be signal and migrated by the crosscorrelogram migration method (Schuster and Rickett, 2000; Sheng, 2000). By merging the Kirchhoff and crosscorrelogram migration images, the true reflectors can be reinforced and the artifacts can be attenuated. For simple flat layered models direct multiplication of the Kirchhoff and crosscorrelogram migration images...

Imagine placing a receiver at any location in the Earth and recording the response at that location to sources on the surface. In such a world, we could place receivers around our reservoir to better image the reservoir and understand its properties. Realistically, this is not a feasible approach for understanding the subsurface. Here, we present an alternative and realizable approach to obtain...
متن کاملProgress Report on Crosscorrelogram Migration of Free-Surface Multiples in RVSP Data
According to Schuster and Rickett (2000), a shot gather of crosscorrelograms is partly equivalent to a shot gather of seismic traces, and the reflectivity distribution can be imaged by migrating free-surface multiples in the crosscorrelograms without knowing the source positions. Here, synthetic data and Exxon’s Friendswood data are used to test the feasibility of migrating free-surface multipl...
